Algeria ๐ฉ๐ฟ is contemplating a significant shift in its football affiliations by considering withdrawal from the Confederation of African Football (CAF) to join the Asian Football Confederation (AFC). According to Algerian media sources, the Algerian Football Federation (FAF) is seriously exploring this move.
This potential departure from CAF is driven by Algeria's increasing dissatisfaction with the organization's management and decisions. Reports from Algeria suggest that the FAF feels more aligned with the competitive standards and organizational structure of the AFC.
However, this proposed switch has sparked concerns across the African football community. Critics argue that such a move would signify a form of segregation and would be akin to the principles of apartheid. They emphasize that Algeria, being geographically and culturally part of Africa, should remain within its continental football confederation. The potential departure is viewed as an unsettling precedent, reflecting deeper issues of division and discontent within African football.
Remember also that a Moroccan player congratulated Arab world instead of Africa, for their progress to the semi final in the world cup Qarta 2022.
The question is, should black Africa continue to beg for relationship with these north African countries? Despite the fact that majority of black Africans practice same religion with them, yet they don't see themselves as part of Africa.
What is your opinion on this?
