Out of nothing but his own determination and talent, Chief Obafemi Awolowo forged for himself an important place in Nigerian history.
He is the poor village boy who made it so good that he became premier of Western Nigeria. He is the tough and tireless politician who says that his first task is to serve his people – a task from which he allows nothing to distract him. It’s politics long before pleasure with him.
“I am a realist in politics. I believe in taking one step at a time. I believe in chewing what I and the people can swallow".
