Ogun State Government’s “Obas New Bill of Law” SHAME IṢẸ̀ṢE COMMUNITY!! It reproduces white supremacists’ sentiments

The traumatizing bill, which the Governor of Ogun State, Prince 'Dapo Abiodun accented to on January 10 2022 in the presence of Olu of Ilaro, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle; the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi and the Awujale of Ijebu-Land, Oba Sikiru Adetona; does not disgraces us all, but put shame and degradation on our religion Isese.

The new law is purportedly enacted as a “preservation of traditional rulers’ rites”; but it tactically projects Yoruba indigenous traditions and invariably presents Yoruba indigenous civilizations as INHUMAN, KILLERS and CANNIBALS! This projection is made in section 55 of the new law. It says:

“From the commencement of this Law, human ritual as part of installation and burial rites of an Oba or a Chief is hereby prohibited”;

“Any person or a group of persons who kills or uses human part(s) as part of the installation or burial rites of an Oba or a Chief in the State shall be guilty of an offence under Sections 242 and 319 of the Criminal Laws of Ogun State and upon conviction shall be liable to imprisonment under the said law”.

The big questions are: (i) is “human ritual” part of installation and burial rites of Obas or  Chiefs in Yoruba land?; (ii) Can the Governor of Ogun State, Prince 'Dapo Abiodun, the State Lawmakers provide documented evidences that informed the enactment of such a law? And (iii) Can the promoter of the bill namely Olu of Ilaro, Oba Kehinde Olugbenle; the Akarigbo of Remoland, Oba Babatunde Ajayi and the Awujale of Ijebu-Land, Oba Sikiru Adetona disclose to the world the processes of their installation as Oba that involve “human ritual”?

We are traumatised by this “Obas New Bill of Law” of Ogun State Nigeria. Indigenous Yoruba are NOT INHUMAN, KILLERS and CANNIBALS!
