While the year 2021 was rounding up and celebration mood for the coming year was in activation, incessant killings suspected to be cult clash surfaced in some parts of Ijebu Ode and its environment. Entry into the new year was involved in so many cult killings that amount to many indigenes staying back in their abodes because of the killings the town. January, 2022 is so alarming as cultist killings now occurs almost everyday and it seems like we have no security personnel in the town. Ijebu Ode is now like a lone town that has no leader that can curb the menace. The town is no longer safe as dwellers now move about their daily duties with an eye open.
Kidnapping of innocent souls for ransom is order of the day. Ijebu Ode which used to be a very peaceful town is now an abode for the wicked and nothing is being done about it.
How long do we continue like this?
How soon do we continue to live in panic?
Where are our traditional leaders?
Where are our political leaders?
Your silence is giving us the idea that you are involved and satisfied about this matter. If not something should have been done to stop these incessant killings and kidnappings.
Is it now a crime to start up a business and make it in Ijebu Ode without being scared of being kidnapped?
We call on the paramount ruler of Ijebu Land, HRM. Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, Ogbagba II, Prince Dapo Abiodun, Ogun State Commisioner of Police and many others to look into this matter before it gets out of hand.
