SATAN

Another alternative spelling of Satan's name is Setan or Setana which is akin to Setanta, who was worshiped all over the British Isles and Ireland. "Setanta" is the original name for Cuchulainn, the incarnation of Lugh, who is thought by some to equivalent of the Roman god Lucifer, for both of their names derive from the Latin “lucis” the genitive of “lux” meaning “Bringer of Light.” His sacred symbol is a spear. He was always accompanied by two ravens and he's sometimes depicted having one eye, just like his Norse equivalent Odin aka Wotan to the Germans. He was also associated with the Irish god Dagda or Eochaid Ollathair. He's thought to be interchangeable with the Greek god Hercules, originally known as Santan (Sandan, Sandas, Santas) from the Anatolian and Hittite pantheon. Cuchulainn was known as Kukulkan among the Mayans, and that will be elaborated on in another post..... Overall in Celtic mythology, Setanta/Cuchulainn/Lugh/Dagda was the original chieftain of the Tuatha De Danann, which was a race of Gods who were believed to be the ancestors of the Irish people. He was the divine father and protector of the Celts, as well as a great benefactor. But he was also the great warrior that brought horrible vengeance onto his enemies. In the ancient Norse-Germanic tradition, he played a dualistic role. He was both the Lord of Light and the Prince of Darkness. He has the power to create and destroy. For him, any kind of limitation is something to be overcome by any means necessary, and his actions are carried out within the context of a relentless and ruthless quest for more wisdom.
