The Kemetiu (the Ancient Egyptians) didn’t called their region Egypt; rather they called it the "two lands" transliterated t3wj, pronounced something like 'ta-oo-ee' or 'ta-wee'. Sometimes they called it Kemet. Likewise the ancient African name of the Great Pyramid of Giza is not “the Great Pyramid of Giza”. It is Akhet-Khufu (the “Horizon of Khufu”), or a place to see the sun rise built by Khufu.
