LEJJA: Enugu State Of Nigeria πŸ‡³πŸ‡¬πŸŒŸ

Apparently the oldest Iron smelting site in the world. It is a village square at Otobo Ugwu.






The ancient town of Lejja, located in Enugu State consists of 33 villages.

It is a prehistoric archaeological site which contains iron smelting furnaces and slag that dates back to 2000 BC; five hundred years older than those found in Asia.
