The Ìjímèrè like countless of animals species, vegetations & planets plus other unseen forces of nature known as irúnmolè had been in existence million's of years before the arrival of the first sets of human spirits on planet earth.
Millions of years passed through which the Ìjímèrè of different kinds and colours in different lands keep developing to a particular stage, they because very conscious of themselves, this is the best most developed sets of them.
They are the first portal through which the human spirits came into the world. The most developed of them are created mainly for this mission on earth....we do not evolve from them...they only serve their mission as a bridge so we can be allowed on Ikole-Aye to experience and develop into self conscious as Òrìṣa.
Among them are the Egúngún Aye! The Ìyàami...the masquerade of the Earth. The first sets of human spirits look like them a lot.
Of course some of them became students of nature automatically by studying the moon, stars, plants etc, the unseen forces of nature started teaching them the secret of the universe and they keep developing till date.
Different secrets of water, fire, air etcetera....the evolution of Òrìsà Consciousness came later on after millions of years of evolution of these species.
There was a period where Obo & Iji as a prefix to human names in the land known as Yorùbaland and beyond today was something.... we have Oboseun, Obotunde...Ijikunle, Ijilola.... etcetera.... depends on dialects and tongues.
The Ìjímèrè that reflected in Ifá as an Òrunmila student came later on after decades of the arrival of human spirit on earth.
