Didun ni iranti Akoni ati o gbo'ju Eni wa: Al'aiyeluwa (Oba) Henry Taiwo Adesubomi Fowokan. Matuluko II. The Ogu'ja Olu-Isa(Olisa) of Ijebu-Ode. (April 1st 1981- Aug. 5th 1991.)
He was born on Novermber, 30, 1930 in Ijebu-Ode. He was a blue-blood born of the two Royal Dynasties of the Awujale - Fidipote and Ogu'ja Olu-Isa - Wunomo-Matuluko branches respectively.
His choice of candidacy was informed by the unanimous decision of the his family, as well as the KINGMAKERS upon their consultations with Ifa Oracle.
He was subsequently taken into the compulsory three months spiritual seclusion( also known as Osu n'osu meta) for the rites of initiation, at JIBEYIN AF'OKORO VILLA, on Jan. 9th 1981.
Thereafter, he was enthroned on the 24th day of July 1981 at the premises of Ijebu-Ode local government, Itoro, Ijebu-Ode.
Al'aiyeluwa(Oba) Henry Taiwo Adesubomi Fowokan ascended the throne of his Ancestry, in accordance to the provision of section II of the Chiefs Law, cap 19 of the Ogun State Government.
Also, by the approved and registered declaration of the customary laws, of 1957 (Gazette) regulating the selection of candidacy, to fill the vacant stool of the Ogu'ja Olu-Isa(Olisa) Ijebu-Ode.
His appointment was duly notified and subsequently approved by the Ogun State Government on the 1st day of April 1981, in the area of authority of Ijebu-Ode Local Government subsequently Fowokan's coronation ceremony had the first Executive Governor of Ogun State on 24th day of July1981. Chief Victor Olabisi Onabanjo and his erstwhile deputy, Chief Sesan Soluade, leading the State Executive Council to perform official coronation ceremony, as well as the presentation of the staff of office.
It is on records that he succeeded the late Al'aiyeluwa(Oba) Kafaru Ladipupo Adedeji Akinsanya (A ni'ya meta) of Dogba lineage, who joined his great Ancestry on April 28th, 1979.
It also noteworthy to state that his accession to the Royal stool of the Ogu'ja Olu-Isa, made him the 29th Ogu'ja Olu-Isa of Ijebu-Ode, from the available records.
He was also the second occupier to the throne from the Matuluko lineage, coming after the Al'aiyeluwa (Oba) Adebambo Matuluko, who reigned as the 22nd Ogu'ja Olu-Isa of Ijebu-Ode.
Al'aiyeluwa (Oba) H.T.A. Fowokan before he became Oba he had a recognized name a.k.a "Popular Henry" who would always be remembered and appreciated, for he was a dogged and in relented fighter, rebuffing the excesses of the oppressors, aimed at having the Monarchical Status of the Royal stool of the Ogu'ja Olu-Isa turned to an ordinary Chief STATUS!
