ÌSÈSE DAY/ UNITED WE STAND, DIVIDED WE FALL. WE SHALL NEVER FALL

Can you imagine the scenario when you have all the Deities celebrating together, Èsù, Òrúnmìlà, Egúngún, Obàtálá, Sàngó, Ògún, Oya, Òsun, Obalúayé and others too numerous to mention.

This is the idea behind THE UNIVERSAL DAY FOR AFRICAN TRADITIONAL RELIGIOUS FESTIVAL POPULARLY TAGGED ISESE DAY.

We are aware that we are still agitating for public holiday for August 20 in Lagos State, Oyo State, Ondo State, Ekiti state, Ogun State, Edo State and other States just like in Osun State but this should not depress us in celebrating our festival in grand styles. It is being celebrated simultaneously all over the world.

I have picked a stanza from the Odù, Ìrosùn Atéré ( Ìrosùn Òtúá) to deliver this message. 

Ifá enjoined us to follow righteous ways, avoid wicked acts and always pay reverence to biological parents, Oluwo/Godfathers/Godmothers, Elders, Mentors and most importantly the Ancestors so that our supplications/ rituals/ offerings can be accepted. Just listen to the stanza as follows:-

Dóródóró e jé káláyé ó sayé

Sìkàsìkà e jé kónígbà ó lògbà

Àrà tó wùnmí kò wùn ó

Oun gbogbo tí ńbe nílé ayé ní dáradára ló ye Babaláwo 

Adífá fún Ìwérénjéje tí ńbe láyé aláìjùbà

Ìbà lèsí ìbà Bàbá

Ìbà lèsí ìbà Yèyé

Ìbà Páñpá sìgìdí adáso má mèró

Àfèyí tí mo bá dáse k'órò másàì gbà

Evil planners, let people live peacefully 

The wicked ones are warned to allow people to enjoy their lives 

My styles are different from yours

Unless we fail to accord respect to our Ancestors and Elders who were responsible for our present status, our offerings/ rituals/supplications must be accepted.
