Flo Ngala is a well-known photographer with Cameroonian roots, born and raised in Harlem, New York. She’s become a major figure in the photography world, using her skills to tell stories about identity, culture, and the beauty of Black life. Growing up as a first-generation American in Harlem shaped her creative vision and inspired her to capture authentic, powerful images.
Flo first caught the public’s eye by photographing Cardi B, especially during the 2018 MET Gala, where she documented the artist’s behind-the-scenes moments. Since then, her career has skyrocketed. Her work has been featured in top publications like The New York Times, Billboard, Essence, and Vogue, where she made history as the first Black woman invited to photograph inside the MET Gala in 2022. This achievement was a groundbreaking moment in her career, giving her the opportunity to add a new perspective to one of fashion's biggest events.
She’s also worked with big brands like Nike and Adidas and photographed major stars like Simone Biles, Wizkid, and Burna Boy. Her style combines an editorial look with a realness that lets the personalities and stories of her subjects shine through.
