The Battle of Supremacy between the Ooni and the Aláàfin is to me a fight that is not supposed to be heard of among the two monarchs.
These two kings are not helping matters as they are not telling their supporters the truth about the relationship that exists between them both. I guess there is some political hand responsible for that discordance and both kings are actively allowing themselves to be willing accomplices for a divide and rule agenda, but I'll state here for record purposes, we can't all be corrupt at once, someone has to be the voice of sanity.
Ọ̀yọ́ was the military and political might of the Yoruba land, it received tribute from across Yoruba land - as should be expected of any powerful military might. Though some parts of Yoruba land maintained their independence, but the Ọ̀yọ́ might was the largest of the Yoruba states.
Ifẹ̀ is a spiritual home, it is the spiritual headquarters of the Yoruba land.
Ọ̀yọ́ sees Ifẹ̀ as the source, Ifè sees Ọ̀yọ́ as the military defender. Ooni and Àlàáfín are brothers, just as all other kingdoms across Yoruba land.
There shouldn't be any need for competition or seniority show, that's immature.
