We (Black race) are trailing behind in the world today, not because we are no geniuses, but because we ignored the knowledge of our ancestors of how the entire Universe works only to start attempting to understand the universe from the European perspective. It's like being a Master's degree holder already and then going back to start from Kindergarten again on another culture.
For instance, in medicine, we have/had our own medical procedures that was advanced and which still has room for improvement for the benefit of humanity if worked upon, it stemmed out of our worldview - how we understood the makeup of man and his environment. But we abandoned that and now begin anew to study medicine from the European man's worldview - based on his own understanding of man and his environment.
The Europeans built their own science on the knowledge that their own ancestors left to them.
The Africans abandoned the scientific knowledge that their own ancestors handed down to them.
How can we then be equal with the one we are learning from? We now have to follow up with the discoveries of the European who keeps his ancestors knowledge a secret as he uses it to make things that continues to wow the Africans.
Whereas the Africans have theirs at home in their villages. Only very few people patronize them After all European options have failed.
Let Europe advance its own ancestral knowledge, let Africa advance her own ancestral knowledge. Let both of us contribute our knowledge and wisdom to the world. The sky is big enough for the birds to fly without colliding. There is no useless race. Olódùmarè (The Supreme Creator) blessed every race with wisdom; no race is blessed with absolute wisdom so that we humans, irrespective of our different races can see the need for ourselves.
The world needs African solutions as much as it needs European, Asian and Arabian solutions.
Africa should therefore wake up and start dusting up the accounts of the ancestors and begin to test the knowledge in it. Let's know what is working and what is not. Let's know how to advance it and contribute to the world that is presently hungry for solutions to a myriad of global crisis.
The world is failing, African traditional scientists and philosophers should be supported NOW.
We are available, but we need help to create a research institute to test these information that we have in our knowledge bank.
