6 Holiday-themed Festivals in Massachusetts!

October has passed us by, and we're now well on our way towards the holiday season this November with a collection of can't-miss holiday-themed festivals later this month! So, for a little holiday fun inspiration, here are six festivals that'll help you enjoy this merriest of seasons:

Boston Christmas Festival in Boston, MA

You can enjoy a little Christmas preview at the Boston Christmas Festival, which swings into action more than a month before the holiday itself. From November 8 through November 10, you'll find offerings from more than 300 of America's finest crafts artists at the Seaport World Trade Center in Boston, and that's just to start. The event's true showstopper is the Gingerbread House Competition, which highlights innovative culinary creations from the Hub's top chefs before selling the houses for charity.

Edaville Christmas Festival of Lights in South Carver, MA

Down in South Carver, you'll encounter an equally charming Christmas festival of a very different variety. Beginning on November 22 and lasting through New Year's Day, Edaville USA will host their famed Christmas Festival of Lights, which treats families to a train ride past thousands of Christmas displays on the illuminated park grounds; seasonal treats, vintage amusement rides and a visit from Santa will also be in the offing. Families keen to double up on the fun can also hop aboard The Polar Express , another Edaville event that runs concurrently at the South of Boston park.

Castleberry Holiday Arts & Crafts Festival in Worcester, MA

Each year, Castleberry Fairs & Festivals travel across New England showing off magnificent work from regional artists, and on November 22, they'll be rolling into Worcester's DCU Center for a three-day stay. This year's festival will feature the homespun range of quality, American-made crafts from more than 250 vendors whose disciplines include puppetry, tapestries, jewelry, scarves, ceramics and much more. You can find more info on directions, hours and tickets here.

Berkshire Museum Festival of Trees in Pittsfield, MA

A classic tradition, the Berkshires Museum Festival of Trees converts one of Massachusetts' most notable museums into an arboreal wonderland featuring Christmas trees of all creeds. This year's theme will be Yesterday, Today and Tomorrow , showcasing decorated trees that range anywhere from ancient to avant-garde. The festivities, which kick off with a party on November 22 and then run from November 23 to January 2, will be extra special, as they commemorate the museum's 110th birthday.

Rocky Neck Art Colony Art & Fine Craft Festival in Gloucester, MA

Saturday, November 30 will kick off a special five weekends in Gloucester, where local arts and crafts will be on full display. Oil paintings, watercolors, prints and cards from 40 nearby artisans will fill the Rocky Neck Cultural Center , which will welcome guests to peruse and purchase as they please.

Nantucket Noel and Christmas Stroll in Nantucket, MA

A holiday staple, the Nantucket Noel and Christmas Stroll highlight a magical time on the island. The festivities start the day after Thanksgiving with the annual Christmas Tree Lighting, which treats folks to the illumination of more than 100 trees along Main Street. Caroling follows the same night, led by the Accidentals & Naturals of Nantucket High School. On Saturday, December 7, the Coast Guard will guide Santa into town, where he'll stay for a weekend of parades, exhibitions and family fun.
