A base slab for a presumed giant statue from the Kingdom of Askum - Present day Ethiopia, Eritrea. It was discovered in 1906 and it appears that some large statues were created and erected in the Aksumite civilization.
It bore two depressions that were carved in the shape of human feet. The two depressions were three and a half times bigger than the size of an average human foot, hence placing the entire human statue/figure at 5.5 - 6 meters tall. No other metal statues in the world around that time had achieved that height - except some Greek bronze figures.
Efforts to locate the base slab have yielded no fruits, and thus, it had never been seen again in public since 1906.
