The Royal Easter Show is one of Australia's biggest agricultural festivals. It runs across 10 days at Easter. Rivaling this magnificent festival is Tamworth's Country Music Festival. This two-week festival lures thousands of avid country music fanatics to the rural reaches of northern New South Wales.

Tamworth Country Music Festival

The city of Tamworth turns into Tam-Vegas for two weeks in January. The Tamworth Country Music Festival is the most alluring and anticipated musical event in the northeastern region of the state. More than 50,000 visitors frequent the festival across its two weeks. Some of the world's most famous country music singers come to Tamworth for this event.

Sydney Festival

Sydney Festival performances and concerts are held in Hyde Park and the Domain. During this festival, the Bacardi Latin Festival operates at Darling Harbour.

Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras

This is one of the most impressive gay-focused festivals in the world, lasting from late February through to early March. Aside from the many performances, sporting events and parties held throughout the event, the Darlinghurst Parade is the culmination and pinnacle festivity of the Sydney Gay and Lesbian Mardi Gras.

Royal Easter Show

New South Wales boasts a fair number of events in the months of March and April, but the most exhilarating and busiest is the Royal Easter Show. It occurs during the Easter period. The show includes rides, showbags, and agricultural displays from across the state. Sydney Olympic Park is where the event is held.

Blues and Roots Festival

The Blues and Roots Festival is one of the most exciting music events in the state. It is held in the city of Byron Bay, which rests upon the northeastern coastline of New South Wales. The festival occurs every Easter, which usually falls at the end of March or early in April.

NRL Grand Final

Held in the first week of October, Grand Final Sunday is the pinnacle of Sydney's sporting calendar. Grand Final Sunday refers to the championship game between Australia's two best teams in the National Rugby League. It is held at Sydney's Olympic Stadium, which is now called ANZ Stadium. Games are played all day, and if visitors can't get to the stadium, then they should head to the nearest pub.

Sydney New Year's Eve

On New Year's Eve, New South Wales counts down across the state. However, the center of the celebrations is found at the Sydney Harbour Bridge and Sydney Harbour. All day, New Year's Eve brings families and couples looking for a fun way to bring in the New Year. A massive fireworks display caps off a wonderful night.
