Comparative Religion 101 - Understanding the main world religions

Each of the main world religion defines a problem, then prescribes a solution to this problem.

For example:

In Judaism, the problem is exile, and the solution is to return to Yahweh.

In Christianity, the problem is the “original sin", and the solution is salvation through Jesus of Nazareth.

In Islam, the problem is pride, and the solution is submission to the will of Allah.

In Buddhism, the problem is suffering, and the solution is the attainment of nirvana.

In Confucianism, the problem is chaos, and the solution is social order.

In Hinduism, the problem is samsara (wandering), and the solution is moksha (release)

In Ifá, the Yoruba in my opinion don't believe they have a problem to solve but a goal to attain through their Orí (inner head/fate/destiny)

Our individual goal is to find and follow our purpose in life (Orí).

The Yoruba believe that each one of us has a destiny/purpose to fulfil and the goal is to find this purpose and pursue it.

On the flip side, if you refuse to find your purpose then it is your fault! Yes, your fault alone and you live with the consequences of your inaction.

Ever heard of Akọṣẹjaye?
